Head of DFID China
We work with the Chinese government to help reduce poverty in other developing countries.
In March 2011 DFID closed its bilateral aid programme to China.
Our relationship with China now focuses on working together, where we share objectives, to reduce poverty and achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in other developing countries.
China is already a major force on global development issues, and other developing countries may be able to learn from China’s unparalleled success in reducing domestic poverty and progress towards the MDGs.
