The Naples UKTI team is seeking to recruit a temporary A1(L) Trade Assistant to join their busy and highly dynamic team to work across all sectors.

The temporary contract will have a five month duration starting from 4 November 2013 and ending on 31 March 2014. This temporary position stems from an increased workload in view of the Consulate’s relocation and the need to change the IT support platform. In addition, the ideal candidate will also have to deal with a backlog of enquiries for Head Quarter’s quality control.

The successful candidate will report to the Trade & Investment Officer in Naples and assist with implementation of UKTI trade & investment development strategy in Southern Italy.

Duties and Responsibilities

The main duties of the job are:

  • to support the Naples UKTI Team;

  • to be the point of contact for enquiries from the UK;

  • to use all available sources to research market and sector information on behalf of UK companies;

  • to obtain and collate product information;

  • to contact UK and Italian companies by e-mail and phone;

  • to assist in the organisation of seminars and other events;

  • to monitor local & EU tenders to generate Business Opportunities in the Italian market ;

  • to contribute to the general office management.

Key Skills

The key skills required for this job include:

  • ability to deal with Italian and UK authorities within the trade sector;

  • excellent self-organisation and attention to detail;

  • excellent knowledge of IT systems and software;

  • excellent telephone manner;

  • the successful applicant will be a willing team player;

  • attention to customer care and respecting deadlines;

  • fluency in both written and spoken English and Italian.

Terms and Conditions

  • the position is at A1(L) level;

  • the monthly gross salary starting from euro 1,723.76. The salary is paid monthly 14 times per year including €10.33 EDR paid 13 times per year;

  • working hours are 35 per week Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:00. Some degree of flexibility is expected;

  • the successful applicant may be expected to travel from time to time in connection with the job;

  • confirmation of appointment is subject to security clearance and a probationary period of one month;

  • income tax arrangements will depend on nationality;

  • the successful candidate will be enrolled in the Italian State Social Security scheme;

  • leave entitlement will be 2.5 days per month, but applicants should be aware that they may have to fit in any proposed leave with other members of the team.
