Human rights developments in Kazakhstan

The annual Human Rights report published today highlights work taking place in Kazakhstan.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

The report highlights some of the valuable project work conducted with Kazakhstan’s government and civil society that is funded by the UK and sets out concerns on freedom of expression and of religion and belief in Kazakhstan.

To launch the report, the Foreign Secretary made a keynote speech to an audience of parliamentarians, NGOs, local ambassadors, civil society and the media. Read the Foreign Secretary’s speech in full.
