Dial into our webinar on opportunities at the 2022 FIFA World Cup

UKTI Doha is holding a webinar to provide an overview of opportunities at the 2022 World Cup and advice on doing business in Qatar.

The 60 minute webinar will highlight the upcoming World Cup and the opportunities it offers to UK companies in the sports and infrastructure sector in Qatar. The Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup bid is driving $220 billion developments in infrastructure works in the wealthy Gulf State. This will

  • rail, roads, port and airport

  • broader infrastructure including utilities

  • $4 billion spend on new and refurbished stadia

  • related projects including precincts, training facilities, transport hubs, fan zones, base camps, overlay, temporary power

Webinar: Qatar 2022 World Cup and its related infrastructure

Time: midday to 1pm UK time

Date: 25th September 2013

The webinar will provide:

  • background briefing about Qatar

  • an overview of projects and business opportunities including: stadium design, training grounds, hotel building and accommodation, the new port, rail, roads, airport and utilities (including drainage) projects

  • advice on doing business in Qatar, including legal perspectives

  • information on how UKTI Doha can assist UK companies

  • a platform to put questions to UKTI specialists and senior business people operating in the market

Speakers will include experienced members of the UKTI in Doha, an independent infrastructure specialist, a representative of a design and business consultancy operating in the market and a Qatar based legal advisor.

Background

Qatar was announced as the host nation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in December 2010. With a population of 1.8 million people, Qatar will be the first Arab state to host this prestigious global sports event.
