Demonstration of British Construction Machinery in Tashkent

Her Majesty’s Ambassador Mr George Edgar and Deputy Head of Mission Ms Fiona Maxton visited a construction site in Tashkent where machinery manufactured by JCB was being demonstrated. JCB is a British company specialised in construction equipment, including the world’s number one backhoe loader JCB 3CX Eco. The machine in use at the site is a JCB 3CX Eco decorated with the British flag, and therefore nicknamed the Union Jack.
From August 2014 UK Heavy Machinery, JCB’s authorised dealer in Uzbekistan, is planning a series of test-drives and official demo shows of the Union Jack in Tashkent and various regions of the country. Local construction companies implementing diverse large construction projects will be able to test the 3CX Eco, which thanks to JCB’s innovative technologies works more productively with less fuel consumption, lower emissions and noise levels, and is a class leader in terms of efficiency and running costs.
Ambassador Edgar and Ms Maxton saw the Union Jack in action at the construction site of the new building of the Uzbek Chess Federation. They met the managers of UK Heavy Machinery and the operators of the Union Jack, who briefed them about the qualities of the backhoe loader and showed off its multiple functions including roading, loading and excavating.
