Carolyn Davidson, British Ambassador to Honduras, welcomed six Hondurans awarded with a Chevening Scholarship for the 2015/2016 academic period. The reception was also attended by Chevening scholars from previous years, other professionals that have pursued independent studies in the UK and senior officials from the Embassy.

To this date, the Chevening alumni network in Honduras has grown to 21 students who have specialised in different areas, such as human rights, international development, economics, international commercial law, and agricultural development. They now work in a range of government, private sector and international organisations.

The British Ambassador to Honduras, Carolyn Davidson, said:

The Chevening Programme is an important part of the UK’s investment in Honduras. Our aim is to give Honduran high achievers the support to realise their potential to the full – to help build a more prosperous and stable Honduras. I congratulate the returning Chevening scholars on their remarkable achievement.

Chevening Scholarships are the UK Government’s global scholarship programme. The scholarships support study at UK universities – mostly one year master’s degrees – for individuals with demonstrable potential to become future leaders, decision-makers, and opinion formers.
