15 top UK universities participated to the GREAT Universities Fair in Paraguay on 9-10 October

The first ever UK universities fair in Paraguay took place in Asunción on 9-10 October at two the Central Bank and the Colegio Americano (ASA). 15 of the UK’s best universities visited Asuncion to meet Paraguayan students considering higher education options. This was a GREAT opportunity to find out more about the UK’s world-class universities.

The visiting universities were: University of Edinburgh, University of Warwick, Queen Mary University of London, University of Sussex, City University London, Cardiff University, Middlesex University, London School of Economics, Kings College London, Birmingham University, University Of Sheffield, University of Dundee, East Anglia University, University of Liverpool, Plymouth University.

Besides talking to hundreds of prospective students, the universities also had productive business meetings with the Central Bank, Planning Ministry (STP), Ministry of Education, and Paraguayan universities.

Parallel briefing sessions on the British Government’s Chevening scholarship programme and Paraguay’s recently launched ‘Carlos Antonio Lopez’ scholarship scheme were equally popular and generated lively Q&A sessions. The ANGLO offered advice about English language training options and IELTS exam preparation. Representatives of UK Visas and Immigration provided information about the visa application process. Chevening alumni also shared their experiences of studying in the UK, and other useful information.
