British Ambassador Peter Millett visits Zarqa and Marka

Ambassador Millett visited Schneller School, Al-Raja’a School for Deaf Students, and Hashmiyyeh University.

The British Ambassador to Jordan Peter Millett visited Marka and Zarqa on Tuesday 1 October. He started his visit at the Schneller school, where he enjoyed a tour with the general manager of the school Mr. Ghazi Musharbash. He commended the school’s effort to meet the needs of the labour market by offering vocational programmes.

The Ambassador also visited Al-Raja’a School for Deaf Students in Rusiefeh to attend a training workshop aimed at developing young people’s debating skills and the importance respecting other people’s opinions. The workshop was conducted by the Princess Basma Youth Resource Centre which receives support from the UK through the Arab Partnership Programme.

Lastly, the Ambassador visited the Hashmiyyeh University in Zarqa where he met the President and senior staff of the university and discussed their links with British educational institutions. He also had a wide-ranging discussion about the UK’s approach to the region with a large group of students.
