We’ve responded to the discussion paper on the register of people with significant control (‘PSC register’) through a written ministerial statement. This sets out our intentions following analysis of the responses received.

The statement outlines how we plan to proceed with the following policies:

  • create a working group of business, professional advisor and civil society representatives to oversee the development of the PSC register guidance
  • adopt a simple, business-friendly approach to recording nature of control on the PSC register
  • allow people at serious risk of violence or intimidation as a result of the company and its activities to apply to have their information suppressed on the public register
