Details

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport commissions the Community Life Survey. The survey provides official statistics on issues that are important to encouraging social action and empowering communities, including volunteering, giving, community engagement, well-being and loneliness.

  1. Update to data tables to correct a mislabelling of demographic breakdowns by ethnicity for estimates related to participation in social action

  2. Technical report added

  3. Additional tables for charitable giving behaviours were added to the 2017-18 reference tables

  4. This publication was updated on 5th September 2018 to add fact sheets for charitable giving, formal volunteering, and a summary of volunteering. In addition, the reference tables have been updated to correct a small number of figures in tables D3 and E1.

  5. This publication was updated on 17th August 2018 to include paper-based estimates previously excluded from a small number of measures in error.
