Windrush Community Engagement Fund 2026 to 2027: grant funded projects

Spring Community Hub, London

The project will deliver an engagement programme to increase understanding among Black African, Caribbean and Latin American communities in Southwark. Through a combination of dedicated information events and engagement integrated into existing community services, including food banks, advice sessions and wellbeing activities, participants will receive information about the schemes, address misconceptions, ask questions and access guidance and signposting.

The project will deliver a programme of engagement activities, including an information clinic, drop-in sessions, an Intergenerational Storytelling Evening and an International Delicacies and Heritage Showcase. Through community cooking and shared cultural experiences, the project will create opportunities for conversations and connection. It will raise awareness of the schemes, provide signposting and referrals to further support, and use digital outreach and participant feedback to extend reach and gather insights into community experiences and barriers to engagement.

The project will deliver a multimedia, multilingual awareness programme to engage and inform underrepresented communities. Through magazine features, radio broadcasts, multilingual digital content, community outreach, and engagement events, it will raise awareness, improve understanding of eligibility and available support, provide signposting and referrals to additional services, and gather insights into community needs and barriers to engagement.

Afghanistan and Central Asian Association, London 

The project will focus on underrepresented non-Caribbean communities in Hounslow and Hillingdon. A multilingual outreach campaign, delivered through social media, short videos, community venues, places of worship, schools, local businesses, and trusted networks, will raise awareness and improve access to information. Community events will bring together residents, specialists, and people with lived experience to share information, challenge misconceptions, and build confidence in the schemes. Regular drop-in and outreach sessions will provide tailored guidance, eligibility advice, signposting, and referrals to specialist services where needed.

 The project will raise awareness among Caribbean, African, South Asian and wider Commonwealth communities through community engagement events and targeted outreach delivered through existing family and community activities, trusted community spaces and grassroots networks. It will provide information on eligibility, available support and application routes, alongside opportunities for one-to-one conversations, signposting and tailored guidance in familiar settings. Dedicated engagement events will bring together residents, community leaders and partner organisations to increase awareness, address misconceptions and encourage participation.

The project will increase awareness of the Windrush schemes among Caribbean and other underrepresented communities. Through workshops in trusted community settings, it will provide clear information on eligibility, applications, and available support, while addressing common misconceptions. Outreach through community hubs, food banks, and local groups will engage residents less likely to access formal services, including African and South Asian communities. Informal one-to-one guidance and a larger community engagement event, supported by accessible information materials and community networks, will further promote awareness.

The project will deliver outreach in trusted community settings, including shopping centres, libraries, faith venues and local businesses, providing information on eligibility, available support and application pathways. Workshops and community engagement sessions will offer opportunities for discussion, questions and myth-busting, helping to address common misconceptions and build confidence in the schemes. The project will also deliver a targeted digital awareness campaign through public-facing advertising and community messaging to extend its reach. Follow-up support and referrals to specialist application support providers will help participants take the next steps where appropriate.

The project will raise awareness through trusted local networks and community activities. Community events, including coffee mornings, wellbeing sessions, and creative workshops, will provide opportunities to learn about eligibility, available support, and barriers to accessing the schemes. Local residents and Community Ambassadors with lived experience of the Windrush process will share their stories to build trust, challenge misconceptions, and encourage engagement. The project will also deliver multilingual awareness materials, digital outreach through grassroots partners, and signposting to further support.

The project will raise awareness through community-based information sessions on scheme eligibility, family history and evidence requirements, while addressing common misconceptions and explaining available support. It will provide one-to-one follow-up support, produce multilingual awareness materials and digital content, and train Community Champions to share accurate information through trusted networks. The project will conclude with a community showcase event to reinforce key messages, celebrate participation, and further promote the Windrush schemes.

The project will deliver a community-led programme to help Caribbean and wider Commonwealth communities access the schemes. Through targeted outreach, workshops, and support sessions in trusted community settings, it will raise awareness, explain eligibility requirements, and provide signposting to relevant support services. Online sessions and one-to-one guidance will offer tailored support, while participant feedback will help identify and address barriers that may prevent people from coming forward and engaging with the schemes.

The project will raise awareness of the Windrush schemes while celebrating the experiences and contributions of Windrush communities through storytelling, poetry, community conversations and cultural activities. Engagement will take place through a major community celebration event, alongside smaller information and discussion sessions in trusted local venues, giving residents opportunities to learn about the schemes, ask questions, challenge misconceptions and access further support. The project will also use existing community networks and activities to extend its reach, engaging people through trusted relationships and informal conversations.

Through regular community workshops held in trusted local settings, participants will receive accessible information on eligibility, available support and application processes, while addressing common misconceptions and concerns. Outreach activities will include information pop-ups, multilingual promotional materials, and engagement through local partners, community networks and online platforms, helping to broaden awareness and connect residents with relevant support.

The project will deliver a multimedia awareness campaign using community roadshows, a public awareness event and social media to provide accessible information about the Windrush schemes and address common misconceptions. Promotional videos featuring community interviews, resident experiences and discussions with advocates will amplify local voices and extend the campaign’s reach across digital platforms. Roadshows in key community locations will offer opportunities for direct engagement, the distribution of information materials, and signposting to specialist support services.

The project will deliver a community-led programme of weekly outreach and support sessions for both women-only and mixed groups, providing face-to-face bilingual support in Bengali and Sylheti for people who may face language, literacy or digital barriers. Through wellbeing sessions, community drop-ins and one-to-one guidance, participants will receive information about the Windrush schemes and the support available.
