Details of the application

William J Chinn, Gay T Chinn, William H Chinn and Christopher J Chinn has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Lower Wye catchment.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 30.3 litres per second
  • 108 cubic metres an hour
  • 2,136 cubic metres a day
  • 76,858 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 March and 31 October inclusive in each year
  • at National Grid References (NGRs) SO 63296 22003, SO 61600 21910, SO 60959 21617, and between SO 60806 21580 and SO 67269 21704
  • from abstraction location Coughton Brook at Coleraine Farm, Coughton.

The water will be used for trickle irrigation.
