The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 involving substantial change to a permit from WEST LONDON COMPOSTING LIMITED.

This application is to change the waste types accepted on site to include Hazardous wastes, Asbestos and clinical wastes up to 75,000 tonnes per annum. the site is being redeveloped and extended to change the infrasturcture to install a new purpose building with impermeable surface and sealed drainage with concrete bays and containers where the wastes will be manually sorted, bulked up and stored before being sent off site to a suitably permitted facility for further recovery or disposal. External storage will be restricted to asbestos, tyres and metal waste in enclosed skips.
