Agreement on a Unified Patent Court (UPC) (Brussels, 19 February 2013)
Action: UK ratification 26 April 2018 with declaration and reservation
Declaration: “Referring to the Protocol to the Agreement on a Unified Patent Court on provisional application: In accordance with Article 3(1) of the Protocol, and subject to the Reservation it made on signature in relation to Article 1 of the Protocol, the United Kingdom has completed all relevant domestic procedures required by its law to provisionally apply Article 1-2, 5, 6(1), 7, 10-19, 35(1, 3 and 4), 36-41 and 71(3) of the Agreement on a Unified Patent Court and Article 1-7(1), 7(5), 9-18, 20(1), 22-28, 30, 32 and 33 of the Statute of the Unified Patent Court.”
Reservation: The Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland makes the following reservation in relation to Article 1 of the Protocol to the Agreement on a Unified Patent Court on provisional application: “The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland shall not provisionally apply Article 4 of the Agreement on a Unified Patent Court.”
