Trade advisory groups (TAGs)

The groups were established in July 2020 to meet the requirements of the Department for Business and Trade’s (DBT) trade negotiations.

The TAG system has been replaced by updated stakeholder management structures managed by the Department for Business and Trade (DBT). Engagement continues at all levels with key stakeholders, to help secure the best outcomes for the UK.

Details

The trade advisory groups (TAGs) cover key sectors vital to the British economy, such as:

  • financial services
  • agri-food
  • manufacturing

The groups will meet at least 3 times a year or as required by developments in the free trade negotiations process.

  1. Removal of Ruth Nic Aoidh, McLaren from section 3.2 and Lorna Jack, Law Society of Scotland from section 3.10 due to resignations.

  2. In section 3.2 David Armstrong replaced by Oliver Waghorn as BAE Systems member.

  3. Removed Craft Council - Rosy Greenlees - Executive Director from section 3.7 Creative industries.

  4. Under 3.11 Financial services, Association of British Insurers Director General changed from Huw Evans to Hannah Gurga

  7. Amanda Blanc of Aviva replaced by Lee Callaghan.

  8. Changed life sciences MSD representative to Ben Lucas.

  9. Ernst Schulze, Chief Executive of DP World UK, is no longer a member of the Transport Services Trade Advisory Group (TAG).

  10. Added the following members: TATA Steel Europe - Russell Codling, Manchester Airports Group - Andy Clarke. Removed the following members: L’Oreal UK and Ireland - Nathalie Bleach, Manchester Airports Group - Karen Smart.

  11. Addition of members to 3.11 section (Innovate Finance, Augmentum and Barclays). Revision of entries for Clare Francis and David Craig in 3.11.

  12. Catherine Hicks, Primark removed from section 3.3. Addition of Helen Kennett, Rolls Royce to section 3.2 and Aileen Keyes, Diageo to section 3.1.

  13. Addition of new members to sections 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.11 and removal of members from 3.2 and 3.4.

  14. Removed Aleyne Johnson, Khalid Hadadi and Jes Staley from the membership list.

  15. Changed Sanofi member from Benham Heidari to Jessamy Baird. Removed members from Optimity, BSG and Deliveroo.

  16. Amended role for Mark Gregory. Added roles for Amit Kapur (TCS), Aleyne Johnson (Samsung), Mark Ridgway (EMEA) and George Middleton (Made in Britain).

  17. Section 3.9 Transport services: added Gavin Simmonds, Policy Director Commercial at UK Chamber of Shipping.

  18. Section 3.4 Telecoms and technology: James Cemmell now represents Inmarsat. Section 3.7 Creative industries: Cat Drew now represents the Design Council, British Film Institute added. Section 3.9 Transport services: UK Chamber of Shipping removed.

  19. Section 3.2 Automotive, aerospace and marine: Jeremy Greaves now represents Airbus UK. Section 3.6 Life sciences: Scott Cooke now represents Bristol Myers Squibb.

  20. Amended section 3.9, transport services: Jeremy Haycock now represents Nyshex Europe.

  21. Updated members list. Section 3.8: changed Mark Gregory's role to Consultant

  23. Deirdre Fox, Director, Strategic Business Development, TATA Steel removed from British manufactured and consumer goods advisory group.

  24. Addition of Paul Oldfield, Controller, Policy, BBC to creative industries advisory group.

  25. Tim Doggett, Chief Executive Officer, Chemical Business Association added to Chemicals trade advisory group listing.

  26. Peter Newport of Chemical Business Association removed from Chemicals advisory group.

  27. Rosie Donachie from London Stock Exchange Group has been removed from section 3.11. In Section 3.11 Charlotte Crosswell now represents Exadin Ltd.

  28. Richard Carter replaced by Darren Budd as BASF member of Chemicals advisory group.

  29. Stuart Simpson, CEO of Royal Mail, removed from section 3.9.

  30. Jim Wilkinson of Oxford Sciences Innovation removed from section 3.8.

  31. Removal of Mark Vale, President UK, Ireland and Nordics, UPS from section 3.9.

  32. Hugo Fry replaced by Benham Heidar as Sanofi member of life sciences trade advisory group (section 3.6).

  33. Edited section 3.4, Telecoms and technology, added Larkspur International Ltd - Simon Blagden CBE Chairman and for Sage replaced Sabby Gill - Executive Vice President with Natasha Thomas, Director of Government Relations.

  34. Warwick Smith replaced by Mark Samuels as member from British Generic Manufacturers Association in section 3.6.

  35. Added Catherine Hicks as a member of the British manufactured and consumer goods group (section 3.3). Helen Keefe's organisation and title amended in section 3.7.

  36. Addition of Caroline Rush, Chief Executive, British Fashion Council to Creative Industries membership list.
