The Environment Agency has received an application to vary (change) an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from Hockley Surfacing Limited.
The proposed variation changes a standard rules permit into a bespoke permit.

1.16.12 Due to review and consolidation of Standard Rules Permits the SR2008 No.11 was consolidated into a SR2022 No.1. The facility could not be compliant with SR2022 No.1 due to the presence of some habitats within screening distance within 50 metres of the site boundary. The application seeks to vary the standard rule permit to a bespoke waste permit. The waste facility will continue to treat waste to produce soil, soil substitutes and aggregates. As part of this variation tonnage will be reduced to 10,000 tonnes per annum. The number of waste types accepted will also be reduced.
