Details of the application
Tawnywood Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from the Don and Rother Millstone Grit and Coal Measures at the Hartington Reclamation Site at National Grid References SK 42725 75800, SK 43265 75800, SK 43265 75280 and SK 42725 75280 to transfer it to the River Rother at National Grid Reference SK 43147 75632 without intervening use.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 9.42 cubic metres an hour
- 226 cubic metres a day
- 82,490,000 cubic metres a year
- between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.
Further details are: The application is for the purpose of dewatering a quarry for mineral excavation due to rapidly rising groundwater levels.
