Details of the application
Staynor Farms Limited has applied to the Environment Agency to vary an existing licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number NE/027/0024/063 which authorises the abstraction of water from underground strata comprising of the Sherwood Sandstone at Middle Lane, Brayton, Selby at National Grid Reference SE 61306 29987.
The variation applied for is as follows:
- to increase the daily authorised quantity from 900 cubic metres to 1,200 cubic metres
- the removal of an aggregate condition that currently restricts abstraction under this licence and two other licences to 53,430 cubic metres per year - removing this aggregate condition will mean that 53,430 cubic metres per year may be abstracted in aggregate under licences 2/27/28/250/R01 and 2/27/24/481/R01 and an additional 53,430 cubic metres per year may be abstracted separately under licence NE/027/0024/063.
Abstraction under licence NE/027/0024/063 shall continue to be authorised between 1 April and 31 October inclusive for the purpose of spray irrigation.
