I want the statistics for the number of licences that have been revoked due to non-conviction information, split into male and female categories.
Response
I can confirm that the SIA holds some of this information.
Please be aware that:
- the SIA has only been capturing conviction and non-conviction revocations in a manner that can be reported since January 2022
- a very large proportion of the non-conviction revocations relate to the individual’s right to work in the UK expiring
Because of the UK’s exit from the European Union, the SIA has been required to conduct right-to-work checks on EEA Nationals since 1 July 2021. This has resulted in a significant increase in the number of SIA applicants and licence holders who are subject to right-to-work checks, which in turn has resulted in an increase in right-to-work-related revocations.
