An application has been made to the Environment Agency by RJ & AE Godfrey. The Environment Agency are required to give notice of this application.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from Pauper’s Drain at Amcotts, North Lincolnshire between National Grid References (NGR) SE 8395 1518 and SE 8322 1494.

The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates and periods:

  • 137 cubic metres an hour
  • 3,000 cubic metres a day
  • 26,000 cubic metres a year

Between 1 April and 31 October inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for spray irrigation. The proposed abstraction lies within the Amcotts Catchment and the Lower Trent and Erewash Catchment Abstraction Management Strategy reporting area. Any licence issued would be subject to a condition which protects water levels in the drain for downstream abstractors and the environment.
