Announcement of intention not to prepare an environmental statement (Regulation 5 of the Environmental Impact Assessment (Land Drainage Improvement Works) Regulations 1999 as amended by SI 2005/1399 and SI 2006/618.

The Environment Agency gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to the flood defences on River Humber in Paull between the access track to Thorngumbald Clough (NGR TA 17352 25554) and Paull Holme Farm (NGR TA 18244 24714), a distance of 1.3 kilometres. The proposed improvement works will involve the following:

  • temporary closure of the public right of way
  • topsoil strip
  • bulk excavation
  • reprofiling of the existing embankment
  • importing fill material
  • reinstating the topsoil and seeding

The Environment Agency considers that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them.

Any person wishing to make representations in relation to the likely environmental effects of the proposed improvement works should do so, in writing, to the address specified, within 28 days of the date of publication of this notice.
