Pre-season flying display symposium
Updated 12 April 2019
Symposium aim
The primary aim of the Pre-season flying display symposium is to prepare Display Pilots, Flying Display Directors (FDD), Flying Control Committee (FCC) members and Event Organizers (EO) for the forthcoming Display Season. The symposium is jointly hosted by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the Military Aviation Authority (MAA).
From a military perspective, the Pre-season flying display symposium provides an ideal opportunity for experienced members of the Regulated Community to impart their knowledge to newcomers and for all, both military and civilian, to share ‘good practice’ within the flying display environment. The MAA recommend all military personnel directly involved in the organization, delivery and oversight of flying display activity attend this symposium.
The first day is comprised of a series of presentations on regulatory changes and key safety related issues facilitated by the regulators and subject matter experts from across the flying display community. The second day involves a series of workshops, which are facilitated by experienced personnel from across the flying display community covering a wide range of topics. In addition to the formal presentations and discussion, the symposium provides an ideal opportunity for engagement and networking.
If delegates have any particular questions they would like to be addressed at the symposia, please forward them to the MAA Air Safety Training team prior to the event using the email address: DSA-MAA-AST-Training@mod.gov.uk to enable the detail to be incorporated into the event programme.
