Detail

The data tables contain police recorded crime figures broken down by Community Safety Partnership, quarterly period and individual offence code.

It is recommended that prior to using these Open Data tables, users read the User Guide to Crime Statistics to familiarise themselves with the context of the data and the scope and limitations of PRC statistics as a whole. PRC figures can be considerably affected by changes in recording policy and practice and it is important to consider the impact of such changes when analysing time series based on PRC data or comparing between different areas. In particular, significant changes to recording policy in 2002/03, including the introduction of the National Crime Recording Standard (NCRS), mean that figures are not directly comparable before and after this period. The impact of the 2002/03 and preceding changes varied by crime type, with violent crime particularly affected. These tables only contain data from the period following the introduction of NCRS.
