This guidance will assist your understanding of the regulations and includes obligations for manufacturers, their authorised representatives, importers and distributors.

The Personal Protective Equipment Regulations 2002 were revoked on 21 April 2018 but continue to apply to relevant products placed on the market before 21 April 2019.

  1. Minor changes to the NI guide to reflect the Government’s announcement on 1 August to extend recognition indefinitely of CE marking in certain product sectors for placing goods on the GB market.

Guides also modified in the light of the end of the temporary disapplication of obligations on economic operators to ensure full conformity assessment of COVID-19 related PPE.

  11. Version 4 of the GB guidance and version 4 of the NI guidance published, amended to reflect the end of the conformity assessment easing in relation to the placing on the GB market of COVID-19 related PPE.

  12. Guidance updated to reflect the Personal Protective Equipment (Temporary Arrangements) (Coronavirus) (Scotland) Regulations 2021 coming into force on Monday 1 February 2021.
