Details of the application

The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 involving substantial change to a permit from Augean South Limited.

Regulated facility type

The site is permitted as a waste treatment and recovery facility for hazardous and non-hazardous waste. The variation application seeks to add a new process for the neutralisation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste for both disposal and recovery under the following sections of EPR:

S5.3 A(1)(a)(ii)

S5.3 A(1)(a)(vi)

S5.4 a(1)(a)(ii)

The applicant also proposes to increase overall treatment capacity of the site to 250,000 tonnes and storage capacity in the existing dredging lagoon to 12,000m2
