Details of the application
The Environment Agency has received a new bespoke application for an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from Anglian Water Services Limited.

Regulated facility type
This is a new bespoke application for the storage and transfer of biosolids in the cake pad area of the site; along with Head of Works (HoW) discharge; dewatering of sludge and liming of raw cake, when required.
The applicant is seeking to set the total quantity of imported waste accepted at the WRC to be 100,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) in line with a T21 exemption. The maximum amount of cake to be stored at Boston WRC at any one time is 4000 tonnes and will not be stored for more than 12 months.
The water recycling centre (WRC) treatment process is not included in this permit application as this operates under the Urban Wastewater Treatment Regulations
