NCCIS management information requirement

Guidance for local authorities on providing data about young people’s post-16 activities to the National Client Caseload Information System.


These publications set out the information that should be collected by local authorities (LAs) and reported to the Department for Education’s (DfE) National Client Caseload Information System (NCCIS) each financial year about young people’s post-16 activities.

The NCCIS management information requirement is published each year, aimed at data managers who are responsible for the local Client Caseload Information System (CCIS) and reporting information to DfE.

LAs are responsible for tracking young people’s participation in education and training. This enables them to identify and support those who are not participating and provides them with information to plan local services that meet young people’s needs.

The DfE uses this information to assess the impact of legislation and programmes to increase young people’s participation in education and training, and to produce statistical reports.
