The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 involving substantial change to a permit from FCC Recycling (UK) Limited.

The operator has applied to vary their environmental permit from a Standard Rules Permit (SR2022 No.6) to a Bespoke Environmental Permit.
This change is primarily required because the site is located within a protected groundwater source area.
What is changing?
- The site will continue to operate as a household waste recycling centre.
- Existing waste reception, storage and sorting activities will continue.
- There are no significant changes to the way the site operates.
- Annual waste throughput limits remain unchanged.
- The operator is only proposing to add one additional waste type: Soil and stones not containing hazardous substances (waste code 17 05 04).
