Longthorp (Kilpin) Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006).
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from Duncoats Beck at National Grid Reference (NGR) SE 76720 27657, from a pond on Duncoats Beck between NGRs SE 76776 27581 and SE 76800 27598 and from a pond on un-named drain between SE 76589 27560 and SE 76671 27561 at Kilpin, Yorkshire.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 60 cubic metres an hour
- 900 cubic metres a day
- 40,000 cubic metres a year
- between April and September inclusive in each year.
The water will be used for direct spray irrigation and storage for subsequent spray irrigation.
