This letter outlines the Secretary of State for Transport’s decision about construction of a new southbound running tunnel at Bank station.
The Secretary of State has decided to allow the construction to proceed with modifications.
The suggested work is a new southbound running tunnel to carry a diversion of the Northern Line with new passenger platform to serve the diverted line. The work would also:
- make cross passages from the new platform to the existing Northern Line southbound platform
- improve passenger access between the Northern Line, Central Line and the Docklands Light Railway
