Lexham Farming Partnership: application made to abstract water

Lexham Farming Partnership has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from inland water known as the River Nar at the abstraction reach between National Grid References TF 85596 16824 and TF 86035 16952.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 25 litres per second
- 90 cubic metres an hour
- 2,160 cubic metres a day
- 200,00 cubic metres a year
Between 1 November and 31 March inclusive in each year.
The water will be used for reservoir storage for subsequent spray irrigation.
Further details are: the licence will include a condition that will allow a greater abstraction rate when flows in the River Nar are higher.
