Detail of outcome

The government published a summary of responses following this informal consultation about removing references to the Competition Commission in respect of airport charges conditions for Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports. The Secretary of State for Transport decided to not make references for each of the airports. The reasons for this are set out in the Department for Transport’s (DfT’s) letter to consultee respondents.

The formal direction to the CAA under section 40(9) of the Airports Act 1986 from the Secretary of State for Transport is set out in DfT’s letter to the CAA.
