This research into the public attitudes to international travel during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic aimed to understand:

  • public confidence in international travel
  • plans to travel abroad for leisure
  • awareness of travel policies
  • attitudes to travel requirements such as testing and self-isolation

The reports summarise 10 waves of quantitative research undertaken by Ipsos Mori on behalf of the Department for Transport.

This research was conducted between February 2021 and June 2022.

Each wave of research was conducted as an online survey and had a sample of about 2,200 UK adults aged between 16 and 75. Data was weighted to the known UK population profile.
