The Net Zero, Energy and Climate Change Interministerial Group met virtually on 1 July 2026. The meeting was chaired by the Minister for Energy, Michael Shanks MP (UK Government).

2. What was discussed
The Interministerial Group received an update from the Minister for Energy on the UK Government’s response to the ongoing situation in the Middle East. Members discussed shared priorities and the related impacts and concerns stemming from the Middle East situation.
The Minister for Energy also updated the group on UK Government preparations for the next EU Summit.
