The Environment Agency has received an application to vary (change) an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from GEMINOR UK LIMITED.

The site is located at Geminor UK - ST. MARK STREET, HULL, HU8 7ED. The site currently treats non-hazardous waste to produce RDF for disposal under a S5.4 Part A(1)(a) (ii) activity. The permit also includes a waste operation for the storage and treatment of non-hazardous waste for recovery. The application seeks to: • Increase the annual through put of S5.4 Part A(1)(a) (ii) by 50,000 tonnes; • Add a new installations activity, S5.4 Part A(1)(b)(ii) for the production of RDF for recovery; • Add a new waste operation for the storage and transfer of specific waste streams; • Increase the site storage from 680 tonnes to 1,750 tonnes; • Add waste codes to the permit for treatment; o 19 12 04: Plastic and rubber; o 15 01 02: Plastic packaging; o 15 01 06: Mixed packaging; o 17 09 04 (mixed construction and demolition wastes other than those mentioned in 17 09 01, 17 09 02, and 17 09 03). The mixed construction and demolition waste is to be added to the permit to enable the acceptance of astro turf wastes on site for bailing/wrapping and onward transfer for recovery.
