HS2 Phase One environmental statement volume 5: air quality

These documents have been published as part of the HS2 Phase One environmental statement for the route between London and the West Midlands. The environmental statement was produced to accompany the HS2 Phase One hybrid Bill.

This appendix presents the likely significant air quality effects from the construction and operation of HS2 Phase One, including:

  • baseline assessments of local air quality within individual community forum areas (CFAs)
  • assessment of dust and traffic effects from the construction of Phase One of HS2
  • assessment of operational traffic effects on local air quality
  • maps showing air quality related features, construction activities and receptors used in the air quality assessments

Data reports

These reports are specific to individual CFAs. A map depicting each CFA along the route is available in the Introduction to the environmental statement.

Map book

This map book contains 2 map series:

  • map series AQ-01 shows the air quality management areas within each CFA, the location of air quality monitoring sites (automatic and passive) and the receptors used in the assessment of traffic emissions from the construction and operation of Phase One of HS2
  • map series AQ-02 shows the dust generating activities from the construction of Phase One of HS2 and the receptors closest to these activities
