Details of the application

Harnham Water Meadow Trust has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Hampshire Avon catchment.

The application is for a licence to transfer water as follows:

  • 6,694 litres per second
  • 24,100 cubic metres an hour
  • 578,371 cubic metres a day
  • 12,145,776 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 December and 31 March.
  • at National Grid Reference (NGR) SU 13525 29481.

The water will be used for Flood Irrigation, including water meadows, warping and pest control.
