Research results of people who had changed their cycling behaviour since the start of the Cycling City and Towns (CCT) programme. The research investigated the:

  • influential factors and circumstances associated with these changes, including the programme
  • process of behavioural change

The research identifies the:

  • triggers for changes in how people choose to travel
  • contextual factors which support or constrain cycling

The Cycling City and Towns Programme was implemented across England from 2008 to 2011.
