Details of the application

Notice of application for a full transfer licence.

The Environment Agency is applying to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for a transfer licence to abstract (take) water for a previously exempt abstraction. The application is within the Idle and Torne catchment.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulation 2017.

Further details of the proposal are:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 131 litres per second
  • 472 cubic metres an hour
  • 11,319 cubic metres a day
  • 33,958 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 30 November inclusive in each year.
  • at National Grid Reference (NGR) SE 75441 08904
  • from abstraction location Hatfield Waste Drain.

The water will be used to maintain water level.
