Details

The deployment of electricity storage is expected to increase, both at grid level and in commercial and domestic properties.

The purpose of this gap analysis was to analyse the current health and safety standards framework for technologies at or near deployment (not including pumped hydro) to:

  • identify the gaps
  • determine whether the standards are accessible and easy to navigate

The report covers:

  • the safe installation, maintenance and decommissioning of storage devices
  • protection of people who interact with storage devices, such as consumers in the home

The previous Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) provided £79,815 of funding for the gap analysis, and Frazer-Nash Consultancy was selected to undertake the project.
