John Dowie, secondee to First Group PLC as Director of Local Strategies, UK Bus Division resigned from the Civil Service on 29 September 2017. John had previously held the posts of Director, Special Project, Driving cost-effective delivery of infrastructure investment and Acting Director General, Roads Devolution and Motoring at the Department for Transport.
John took up the permanent post as Director of Local Strategies, UK Bus Division with First Group PLC on 2 October 2017.
A prohibition of 2 years on involvement in lobbying government on behalf of First Group PLC has been proposed, with the first year of restriction to include the secondment period, (during which similar conditions were already in place). Restrictions will therefore be lifted on 25 October 2018.
