Once nuclear sites reach the end of their operational lives, they need to be decommissioned and cleaned up. This briefing describes how the Environment Agency works with various organisations, including the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority to ensure that the clean-up is done as soon as possible and in ways that properly protect people and the environment.
