FOI release 1130

Information on the crimes flagged up on CRB/DBS checks on people applying for teaching positions at schools.

  1. Total number of people who applied for teaching positions and had CRB checks, with figures for each of the last 5 years.

  2. Total number of checks that were rejected, for each of the last 5 years.

  3. Information for the number of criminal convictions revealed on DBS certificates, again for each of the last five years, split into specific convictions.

Clarified:

Information for the positions of headteacher, teacher, teaching assistant, deputy headteacher, assistant headteacher.

In regards to question 3, a list of the criminal convictions which were revealed in Police National Computer information for these positions.

The information was released on 19 February 2014.
