Costs incurred by Welsh Government for use of Wales Office facilities in London

Published 9 February 2012

We were asked how much the Welsh Government/Assembly Government has paid each year for use of the Wales Office facilities in London. The information is shown below

2004-05 £5,577 (2 rooms)

2005-06 £10,492 (2 rooms)

2006-07 £12,773 (2 rooms)

2007-08 £2,844 (1 room)

2008-09 £4,034 (1 room)

2009-10 £10,560 (1 room)

2010-11 £7,147 (1 room)

The charges include the cost of heating, cleaning, utilities, security and accommodation maintenance costs, and are based on a proportion of the total building running costs for that year. Until 2008, the Welsh government had use of two rooms in Gwydyr House, which was reduced to a single room after 2008.
