The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 involving substantial change to a permit from Cheshire West Recycling Limited.

1.16.5 Existing Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) and Household, Commercial and Industrial Waste Transfer Station (HCI) site proposes to vary existing permit to increase annual throughput from 55,000 to 120,000 Tonnes; extend site to include area currently used for storage waste under permit exemptions S1 and S2; add for transfer not treatment the waste accepted by the current storage exemptions and hazardous and non-hazardous wastes sourced from Civic Amenity (HWRC) sites. Add wastes and manual treatment for activity currently covered under waste exemption t11 (repairing or refurbishing Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). Add aerosol cans for crushing.
