C W & J Cargill Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Broadland Rivers catchment.

The application is to vary a full licence to abstract water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 5.3 litres per second
  • 19 cubic metres an hour
  • 190 cubic metres a day
  • 7,500 cubic metres a year
  • between April to September inclusive
  • at National Grid Reference (NGR) TG 50158 12712
  • from abstraction location Sand and gravels aquifer at Caister Castle Farm, Caister-on-Sea

The water will be used for Trickle Irrigation – Direct.
