Buckinghamshire New University: Student sponsor licence suspension

Published 30 September 2026

On 30 September 2026, the Home Office suspended Buckinghamshire New University’s Student sponsor licence.

The suspension took effect immediately and the university was removed from the Register of licenced sponsors: students.

The university has 20 working days to respond to the decision. If it does not show that its licence should be reinstated, its licence will be revoked.

Students currently sponsored by the university can continue their studies while the suspension is in place, as long as their permission to stay remains valid.

The suspension does not affect domestic students or students on other types of immigration permission that do not rely on sponsorship.

Further information on how a sponsor licence suspension affects current and prospective sponsored students is available here.

Buckinghamshire New University’s Worker and Temporary Worker licences are not affected by this suspension and it remains on the Register of licenced sponsors: workers.
