Details

The Global Better Health programme aims to address the growing burden of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as heart disease and diabetes. It also aims to strengthen local health system structures by creating systems to improve quality of care.

The programme will invest £79.3 million into 5 areas where the UK will provide technical assistance to support these objectives:

  • strategies to counter NCDs
  • digital health initiatives
  • education and training
  • provider performance improvement
  • life sciences initiatives

The partner countries are Lower or Middle Income (LMI) countries working towards, or aspiring to, universal health coverage. They have potential to benefit from UK expertise, and are willing to collaborate with the UK and have growing health sector markets:

  • Mexico
  • Brazil
  • South Africa
  • Malaysia
  • Myanmar
  • The Philippines
  • Thailand
  • Vietnam
