Details of the application
Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council has applied to the Environment Agency for three licences.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number 2/27/08/143/R01 which authorises the abstraction of water from a mill pond at Worsbrough Mill at National Grid Reference (NGR) SE 34947 03313.
The variation applied for is: an increase in annual quantity from 31,570 cubic metres to 111,917 cubic metres.
Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council has also applied to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from Rockley Dike at NGR SE 34416 02813 to transfer it to Mill Leat at NGR SE 34418 02814 without intervening use.
Further details are: This will replace existing full licence NE/027/0008/018. An application to revoke (give up) this licence has been submitted.
Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council has also applied to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from Worsbrough Reservoir at NGR SE 34862 03299 to transfer it to Mill Leat at NGR SE 34863 03289 without intervening use.
Further details are: This will replace existing full licence NE/027/0008/019. An application to revoke (give up) this licence has been submitted.
