Details of the application
Anglian Water Services Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence. The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial numbers 7/34/13/G/0186 and 7/34/11/G/0486 which authorise the abstraction of water from underground strata at National Grid References TG 18 08 and TG 16 13 respectively.
The variations being applied for are for the period of 1 year from 1 April 2018 until 31 March 2019 to be used for public water supply all year. The variations consist of:
- Licence 7/34/13/*G/0186 - to increase the annual quantity from 1,228,000 cubic metres per year to 1,728,000 cubic metres per year with no other changes to conditions.
- 7/34/11/*G/0486 - to increase from 2,000,000 cubic metres per year to 3,000,000 cubic metres per year with no other changes to conditions.
For information, an application has been received to renew an existing variation to licence 7/34/13/*G/0186 which would otherwise expire on 31 March 2018. The variation is for an additional purpose to allow a compensation discharge to local marshes to be made when the daily abstraction rate for public water supply goes above 4,365 cubic metres up to a maximum of 6,000 cubic metres per day.
